Summary/Objective
Provide safe, efficient bus transportation and building maintenance within Mt Tipton.
Essential Functions

- Responding to all internal and external customers, as it relates to the position, in a prompt, efficient, friendly and patient manner
- Performing minor repairs, alterations, maintenance, construction and installations for site buildings and grounds
- Performing minor electrical diagnostics and repairs
- Assisting in the setting up and taking down of meeting rooms for school functions
- Organizing and recording work orders
- Maintaining district furniture and custodial equipment
- Delivering equipment and supplies from district warehouses to appropriate areas
- Obeys all traffic laws and enforces all bus regulations
- Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses
- Covers bus routes as directed by Mechanic/Maintenance Lead or designee
- Maintains discipline when students are on the bus
- Maintaining knowledge of and adheres to all policies, regulations, and rules
- Performing related duties as assigned in a safe and prudent manner

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
At-Will Notice of Employment does not provide a guarantee of a particular schedule of work or a minimum number of days or hours.
This is a 12-month, 40-hour per week position. This position is eligible for medical benefits. The employee will work nine hours per day Monday through Thursday and four hours on Friday. Extended work hours to meet deadlines may occasionally be required.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three years of semi-skilled maintenance/craftsman experience
Preferred Education and Experience
- Successful driving record for the past five years
- Bus or heavy automotive equipment driving experience preferred
- Proficiency in the use of hand power tools and equipment
Required Certifications/Licenses
- Valid Arizona Commercial Driver’s License with school bus driver’s certificate
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
