Key Responsibilities
- Works under the direction of the provider and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide. professional nursing care for clinic patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations.
- Triage patients by phone or in person, receiving and implementing telephone physician orders, maintaining clinical communication in dynamic environment.
- Responsible for maintaining all applicable KHI Policies and Procedures.
- Escorts patient to exam room and prepares patient for exam including vital signs, history, and reason for seeking care.
- Cross trains in data entry, balancing of accounts, charges fees and collect payments due.
- Schedules/confirms appointments.
- Maintains and facilitates communication between patients, family, and clinical staff.
- Reports as necessary to Public Health at direction of provider.
- Maintains work area including exam rooms, supplies, medication, and immunizations.
- Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens.
- Performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests.
- May perform venipuncture.
- Participates in division meetings.
Education:
- Graduate of a practical or vocational nursing program
- High school graduate or equivalent.
Certification: BLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
