Position Purpose:

Key Responsibilities [List of material responsibilities and essentials duties which must be completed in achieving the objectives of the position]

· Works under the direction of the provider and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide professional nursing care for clinic patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations.

· Triage patients by phone or in person, receiving and implementing telephone physician orders, maintaining clinical communication in dynamic environment.

· Assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care for both clinic and procedures.

· Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens

· Performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests

· May perform venipuncture

· Ability to communicate effectively with others

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks

· Ability to maintain attention to detail

· Knowledge of and ability to use computer hardware and software applications

· Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocol

· Knowledge of and ability to implement direct care, newborn through geriatric

· Knowledge of and ability to use basic medical terminology

Education:

· Graduate of a practical or vocational nursing program

· High school graduate or equivalent.

Certification/Licensure :

· Current, valid Arizona LPN license or compact state LPN/LVN license

· BLS through the American Heart Association.

· Capable of consistently reaching and/or working above and below shoulder level, lifting up to 50 pounds

· Capable of walking or being on feet 90% of time per day with frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, standing; sitting at desk 10% of the time per day

· Communicating using telephone
