Reports to: Central Supply Supervisor Exempt Status: No
Position Purpose
All KHI employees are expected to perform their respective tasks and duties in such a way that supports KHI’s vision of providing the region’s best clinical care and patient service through an environment that fosters respect for others and pride in performance.
Cleans, inventories, issues and replenishes equipment and supplies to hospital departments. Track locations and usage of equipment. Charges patients for equipment and supplies as necessary.
Key Responsibilities [List of material responsibilities and essentials duties which must be completed in achieving the objectives of the position]
Process of issuing supplies and equipment to appropriate hospital departments. Stock supply carts to specified PAR Levels. Properly clean, inventory and replenish equipment from nursing units. Know the inventory supply, what product is and what it is used for. Process patient charges for equipment and supplies as necessary through appropriate computer systems.
Qualifications [Statements regarding minimum educational and experience qualifications, required proficiencies with specialized knowledge, computer proficiencies, military service, required certifications, etc.]
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Skills: General knowledge of supply distribution, general computer skills, able to deal with public and
other departments
Preferences [Preferred attributes for the position which are not absolutely required in the minimum qualifications (i.e., multi-lingual, master’s degree)]
Central Supply/ Service experience desirable.
Special Position Requirements [Optional section: any travel, security, risk, hazard or related special conditions which apply to the position]
EXPOSURE CATEGORIES: Category I
Work Requirements [Optional section: work requirements for physical or other important issues which relate to the job]
Able to work well with hands, demonstrating good manual dexterity. Able to bend and stoop frequently. Able to climb ladder to retrieve supplies and to clean. Able to walk a total distance of an average of 5 miles per shift. Able to lift and move objects in the following manners using proper body mechanics: Upward from floor level to knuckle level, from knuckle level to shoulder level and from knuckle level to overhead level. Downward from overhead position to knuckle level, from shoulder level to knuckle level, and from knuckle level to floor level. Able to lift and move the following items with stated weights and frequencies in the manners set for above: Small equipment and Supply (weighing up to 50 pounds) lifted and moved occasionally. Able to move (by pushing and/or pulling) pieces of equipment on wheels that weigh up to 150 pounds for any distance within the physical dimensions of KHI. Able to sit for extended periods as this may on occasion, may be required.
