Key Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains effective working relationships with department leaders and staff while serving as a resource regarding employee relations concerns, policy interpretation, and HR programs.

• Evaluates employee relations issues, gathers relevant information, analyzes circumstances, and develops recommendations for resolution in collaboration with the HR Business Partner.

• Exercises discretion and independent judgment in interpreting organizational policies, HR procedures, and applicable employment laws, escalating complex/high-risk matters to the HR Business Partner as appropriate.

• Manages assigned aspects of unemployment claims, accommodations, leave administration, and regulatory compliance processes, assessing facts and recommending appropriate actions within established guidelines.

• Conducts workplace fact-finding and preliminary investigations, interviews involved parties, reviews documentation, and prepares findings and recommendations for HR Business Partner review.

• Represents HR in meetings, employee discussions, hearings, and departmental consultations, exercising professional judgment to address concerns and support business objectives.

• Partners with HR Business Partners and operational leaders to review workforce metrics, identify trends, assess organizational risks, and recommend strategies to improve retention, engagement, attendance, and workforce effectiveness.

• Assists leaders with corrective action processes, performance management concerns, and policy application by evaluating situations, providing guidance, and recommending appropriate courses of action consistent with organizational standards.

• Participates in workforce planning, organizational change initiatives, employee engagement efforts, and process improvement activities by analyzing business needs and recommending solutions that support operational and strategic goals.

• Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall effectiveness of department and organziation.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, healthcare administration, or related fields.

Experience: Four (4) years of experience in Human Resources in lieu of degree.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent customer service skills; ability to remain calm and courteous during telephone or face-to-face contact during difficult situations

• Skill in accurate data entry; fluency with Microsoft Office Suite and database applications

• Ability to take direction; a bility to organize and prioritize work assignments with keen attention to detail

• Ability to work independently; ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all circumstances

• Ability to work within established deadlines and in pressure situations

• Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures

• Planning and organizational skills, along with a high level of initiative

• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, while ensuring quality

• Strong knowledge and experience with a wide variety of HR concepts, practices, and procedures

• Exceptional problem solving skills and the ability to work autonomously to accomplish goals.

Work Requirements

• Ability to sit from 6-7 hours daily at a desk and/or computer terminal

• Ability to travel by car to all campuses and clinics in surrounding Kingman area
