Spray Patch is committed to safety, durable repairs, efficient service, and completing projects on time and within budget.

Position Summary

Spray-Patch Road Repair is seeking a dependable Pavement Striper / Line Striping Technician to complete professional pavement markings on parking lots, roads, industrial sites, multifamily properties, schools, retail locations, and other paved surfaces. The technician will perform new layouts and restripe areas affected by pavement repairs while coordinating closely with repair crews, supervisors, customers, and traffic-control personnel.

The ideal candidate has previous line-striping or pavement-maintenance experience, measures accurately, produces clean and consistent markings, and works safely around moving traffic and construction equipment. Candidates with commercial painting, asphalt maintenance, paving, or equipment-operation experience may also be considered.

Responsibilities

- Lay out and stripe parking stalls, fire lanes, crosswalks, stop bars, directional arrows, loading zones, accessible spaces, curbs, and other pavement markings.

- Restore pavement markings disturbed by spray-injection patching, concrete repair, pothole filling, and related maintenance work.

- Read site plans and work orders; measure accurately, establish reference points, and verify spacing before applying paint.

- Operate walk-behind and ride-on striping machines, airless spray systems, blowers, pressure washers, and related tools.

- Apply stencils, lettering, symbols, numbers, and specialty markings according to project and customer requirements.

- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, drying, masking, and removing loose material or debris.

- Mix, load, and handle traffic-marking paint and other materials according to manufacturer instructions and safety requirements.

- Set up cones, barricades, signage, and traffic-control measures to protect employees, customers, motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians.

- Coordinate work around municipal traffic, occupied properties, retail hours, school schedules, tenants, and other contractors.

- Inspect completed markings for straightness, coverage, dimensions, visibility, and overall quality; complete touch-ups as needed.

- Clean, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot striping equipment, spray tips, pumps, hoses, stencils, and supporting tools.

- Load and unload equipment and materials and assist pavement-repair crews with job-site setup, cleanup, and other field duties when needed.

- Communicate professionally with supervisors, crew members, customers, and the public.

- Follow all company procedures, project specifications, OSHA requirements, and applicable safety and environmental regulations.

Required Qualifications

- Previous pavement striping, asphalt maintenance, commercial painting, paving, or related construction experience preferred.

- Ability to measure accurately and perform basic job-site math.

- Ability to understand layouts, site plans, work orders, and verbal or written instructions.

- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate and maintain small construction equipment.

- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing clean, accurate work.

- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.

- Reliable transportation to the Madison Heights shop or assigned meeting point.

- Dependability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently or as part of a crew.

- Professional communication and conduct when working at occupied properties and in public spaces.

Preferred Qualifications

- One or more seasons of pavement-striping experience.

- Experience completing parking-lot layouts and applying ADA symbols, fire lanes, arrows, curbs, and specialty stencils.

- Familiarity with airless paint systems and commercial striping machines.

- Experience working around municipal roadways, parking lots, live traffic, and pavement-maintenance crews.

- OSHA 10, traffic-control, or work-zone-safety training.

- Chauffeur's license or CDL, if applicable to assigned vehicles and equipment.

Physical and Schedule Requirements

- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds and repeatedly stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, push, and pull.

- Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, sun, rain, dust, fumes, noise, and changing Michigan weather conditions.

- Willingness to travel to job sites throughout Southeast Michigan.

- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and extended shifts based on weather, traffic, customer access, and project schedules.

- Ability to work safely around paint, asphalt and concrete materials, moving vehicles, construction equipment, and active work zones while wearing required personal protective equipment.

What Spray Patch Offers

- Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications.

- Project variety across municipal, commercial, industrial, residential, and institutional properties.
