Position Summary
The Direct SupportCaregiver provides non-medical support and assistance to clients in home and community-based settings. Caregivers play an important role in supporting clients’ physical, emotional, and social well-being while encouraging independence and safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Assist with meal preparation and light housekeeping
- Support mobility, safety supervision, and community engagement
- Transport or accompany clients to appointments and activities as needed
- Observe and report concerns or changes in client condition
- Maintain accurate documentation and communication
- Follow individualized service plans and agency policies
- Treat clients and families with dignity, patience, and respect
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous caregiving, DSP, home care, CNA, or healthcare experience preferred
- Compassionate, dependable, and professional attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and responsibly
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
- Ability to pass background checks and required screenings
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
