JOB DESCRIPTION:
Job Title: Children's Driver / Transportation Specialist
Job Description:
The Children's Driver is responsible for safely transporting children to and from school, extracurricular activities, and other designated locations. This role involves ensuring a secure and comforting environment for children while adhering to safety protocols and providing excellent customer service to parents and guardians.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safe Transportation:
- Safely transport children to and from designated locations, including schools, daycare centers, and extracurricular activities.
- Ensure all passengers are properly secured in their seats using seat belts and child safety seats as required.
2. Child Supervision and Assistance:
- Supervise and interact with children to ensure their comfort and safety during transport.
- Assist children with boarding and disembarking the vehicle, providing support as needed.
3. Route Planning and Scheduling:
- Follow and maintain efficient routes to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
- Communicate effectively with parents and school administrators regarding schedules, delays, or changes.
4. Vehicle Maintenance:
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are met and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle.
5. Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations as well as company policies regarding safe transportation practices.
- Participate in safety training and ensure compliance with child safety regulations.
6. Communication:
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and guardians through effective communication.
- Address any concerns or issues raised by parents regarding transportation services.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license for 1 YEAR with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience working with children or in a childcare setting is an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, kindness, and the ability to relate to children and their parents.
- Knowledge of child safety regulations and best practices.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
- Capability to assist children in boarding and disembarking the vehicle.
- Must be able to perform vehicle inspections and handle minor maintenance tasks.
Work Environment:
- Primarily operates in a vehicle, with potential exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Interaction with children and families in various settings, such as schools and community centers
