About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, nurturing, and dependable Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children learn and grow while creating a safe, engaging, and positive classroom environment.
As a Lead Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work with children ranging from 2 months through 12 years old. While you may primarily be assigned to one classroom, flexibility is essential, as staffing and enrollment needs may require supporting different age groups throughout the center.
The ideal candidate is experienced in lesson planning, classroom management, child development, and building strong relationships with children, families, and fellow educators.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate learning activities using the STREAMin³ curriculum.
- Foster children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Observe, assess, and document children's developmental progress.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding their child's daily activities and milestones.
- Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and licensing compliance.
- Supervise children at all times while ensuring a safe learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers and center leadership.
- Support children with daily routines, including meals, diapering/toileting, naps, and transitions.
- Maintain accurate attendance and classroom documentation.
- Adapt quickly to classroom changes and assist in other age groups as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Child Development Associate (CDA), Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, or related field (or equivalent experience where applicable)
- Previous experience as a Lead Teacher or Early Childhood Educator
- Experience working with infants, toddlers, preschool-aged children, and school-age children
- Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices
- Experience implementing or willingness to learn the STREAMin³ curriculum
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and classroom management abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Flexibility to transition between classrooms and age groups as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience meeting state licensing requirements
- Experience documenting developmental milestones and communicating with families
