What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Youth Mentor position at King William County?
JOB Under general supervision, this non-exempt position provides structured mentoring and individualized academic, social, and behavioral support to youth within a multi-tiered system of support. This is a grant funded position and continued employment is contingent upon funding. Reports to the Director of Community Connections. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Deliver individualized coaching, problem-solving assistance, and skill-building interventions tailored to meet the unique needs of each youth, fostering personal development, and positive behavior change.
Systematically track and document youth school attendance, academic performance, behavioral progress, and participation in community activities; use data to inform interventions; and ensure active engagement with both school and community.
Actively support and encourage youth participation in extracurricular and community events, programs, and activities that promote social development, leadership, and positive peer interaction.
Communicate with program supervisors, school personnel, and community partners to ensure alignment of efforts, share updates on youth progress; and collaborate on strategies for supporting youth success.
Perform in-home and school visits to engage with youth and their families, building rapport and trust; use visits to provide direct support, address concerns, and strengthen relationships between youth, their families, and the community.
Ensure the confidentiality of all youth information, managing sensitive information with the utmost care and in accordance with privacy and legal guidelines associated with youth.
Assist with the monitoring and coordination of additional services offered within the Community Connections Program ensuring an integrated approach to supporting youth and families.
Perform other duties as assigned.
