Job Description
We are seeking a Construction Estimator / Project Administrator to support both our preconstruction and production teams.
This is a dual-phase role that begins in estimating and transitions into project execution support once a job is awarded. The position plays a critical role in maintaining continuity from initial budgeting through project closeout, ensuring accuracy, organization, and efficient coordination across all finish scopes.
This individual will work closely with:
- The Account Manager (Preconstruction) during bidding
- The Project Manager (Production) during execution
Responsibilities
Preconstruction (Estimating & Bid Support)
- Perform quantity take-offs for tile, flooring, cabinetry, and countertops
- Develop detailed cost estimates and proposals
- Solicit and level vendor pricing
- Assist in aligning estimates with builder budgets and allowances
- Track and manage all active bids and proposals
- Prepare scope sheets and proposal documentation
- Support value engineering and material substitutions where needed
Production (Project Administration & Coordination)
- Issue purchase orders and coordinate material procurement
- Track order acknowledgments, lead times, and delivery schedules
- Assemble installation packets (plans, selections, scope details)
- Coordinate material deliveries with field teams and installers
- Monitor job cost vs. estimated budget
- Support project billing milestones (deposit, progress, final)
- Maintain organized project documentation and job files
- Assist with project closeout, including punch tracking and warranties
Project Turnover
- Participate in internal handoff from estimating to production
- Verify quantities, selections, and scope prior to material ordering
- Identify and resolve scope gaps before execution begins
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction estimating (finishes preferred)
- Experience with tile, flooring, cabinetry, or countertops strongly preferred
- Proficiency with takeoff software (Autodesk or similar)
- Strong Excel and Word skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
