Job Summary
Small embroidery department seeking a reliable Embroidery Technician to work 30–40 hours per week. The ideal candidate has hands-on embroidery and/or sewing machine experience, basic garment/trim knowledge, and comfort using Windows-based computers. The position will also include occasional heat press application work.
Duties
- Set up and operate embroidery machines, ensuring correct thread colors, design placement, and machine calibration for each project
- Monitor embroidery processes to maintain consistent quality, making adjustments as needed to prevent errors or defects
- Inspect finished products for accuracy, stitch quality, and adherence to design specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting minor technical issues
- Collaborate with the design team to prepare files for embroidery production and verify design integrity before stitching
- Manage inventory of threads, needles, stabilizers, and other supplies to ensure smooth workflow without delays
- Understand job details, track production, and update status in Windows-based systems
- Follow safety protocols at all times to promote a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues
Experience
- Familiarity with embroidery machines and typical supplies (threads, needles, stabilizers, hoops)
- Some embroidery or sewing experience required (commercial or hobby experience acceptable) A strong candidate would have proven experience operating sewing machines or embroidery equipment in a manufacturing or textile setting
- Strong understanding of garment construction and sewing techniques
- Familiarity with various embroidery software programs is a plus (we use Wilcom)
- Warehouse experience is beneficial for managing supplies and inventory efficiently
- Comfortable using Windows computers for job entry, file handling, and basic troubleshooting
- Good attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and strong time management
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to [30-40] lbs
Preferred:
- Prior experience in manufacturing environments that require attention to detail and quality control is preferred
- Experience with embroidery digitizing software or file formats (e.g., .DST, .PES)
- Basic machine maintenance skills
Schedule:
- 30–40 hours per week; schedule will include weekdays
- Shift times and days negotiable based on operational needs
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
