What are the responsibilities and job description for the Girls Tennis Assistant Coach position at King School (Stamford, CT)?
King School is looking for qualified applicants with High School or College tennis coaching and/or competition experience. Highly motivated candidates possessing strong leadership and communication skills are encouraged to apply. The JV Coach will be responsible for the daily operations of the program, including but not limited to: practice planning, match line-ups, athlete communication and supervision, team culture building, and parent outreach. The JV Coach will also support the Head Varsity Coach in all aspects of the King Girls Tennis Program and be expected to uphold and promote the mission and philosophy of the King School and the Athletic Department, while following the rules set forth by the Fairchester Athletic Association and the New England Prep School Athletic Council. Successful candidates will also have the proven ability to constructively collaborate with both adults and children in a positive spirit.
The Spring season will start at the beginning of March and run through the middle of May. Practices and home matches are held after school at the Italian Center of Stamford and the Sterling Farms Golf Course in Stamford. King Tennis also takes part in a spring training trip to Saddlebrook in Tampa, Florida. The 2025 trip will run from March 15-20. Coaches who are available are encouraged to attend.
