Job Summary
King's Way Eye Clinic & Optical is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Optometric Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will closely assist the Optometrist in providing comprehensive eye care services to our patients. This role requires a minimum of one year experience in an Optometry, Ophthalmology or Optical office.
Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary testing using appropriate methods and equipment for patients, including visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, and pressure measurements.
- Assist with contact lens insertion, removal and care training instructions.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems such as Eyefinity Health Record and Eyefinity Practice Management.
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the importance of regular eye exams. Schedule necessary follow up appointments.
- Assist the Optometrist by accurately recording exam findings in the electronic health record.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Engage in retail sales activities, including recommending eye wear products based on patient needs and doctors recommendations.
- Show up! Come to work every day you are scheduled! This will be a full time position.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of medical coding, terminology and retail math for sales transactions is preferred.
- Previous experience as a scribe in an Optometry or Ophthalmolgy practice.
- Understanding of Optometry/Ophthalmology/Optical practices and procedures related to vision and ocular health.
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to patients.
- Proficient in electronic medical record systems, such as, Eyefinity Health Record and Eyefinity Practice Management.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced team-oriented environment while providing exceptional patient care.
