What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Liability Claims Adjuster position at KING'S INSURANCE STAFFING LLC?
Our client is seeking to add an experienced Commercial Liability Claims Adjuster to join their California team. This person will be responsible for managing a portfolio of moderate to high-exposure Commercial Liability claims which includes Auto, Slip and Falls, and 3rd party Property Damage losses. This is a temp to perm position with medical, dental, and vision benefits while on assignment!
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Commercial Liability claims from intake through closure, with an emphasis on litigated matters.
- Evaluate coverage and policy language; draft clear coverage positions, including reservations of rights and declinations.
- Build resolution plans, establish and adjust reserves, and track performance against financial targets.
- Select, guide, and assess outside counsel; manage litigation budgets and enforce guidelines.
- Prepare concise file notes, status updates, and executive-ready summaries; present recommendations to leadership.
- Negotiate settlements within authority; participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences.
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years' experience managing Commercial Auto and/or General Liability claims.
- Must be well versed in handling California claims.
- Litigation experience is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; professional designations (e.g., AIC, CPCU, SCLA) a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to deliver clear, concise recommendations and reports.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 and modern claims/ reporting platforms.
- Strong command of the claims lifecycle, reserving, best practices, and regulations; able to interpret legal documents (pleadings, contracts, statutes, policy forms).
Salary & Benefits:
- $30.00/hr to $40.00/hr (depending on experience)
