Duties
- Provide attentive and compassionate care to dogs, including feeding, walking, and administering medications as needed
- Handle dogs safely using proper animal restraint and handling techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, pet boarding areas, and common spaces through regular sanitization and grooming tasks
- Monitor animal behavior closely to identify signs of distress or illness, reporting concerns promptly to veterinary staff or supervisors
- Assist with pet grooming, bathing, and basic pet grooming tasks to keep animals comfortable and well-maintained
- Support outdoor work activities such as dog walking, yard cleaning, and ensuring secure fencing for outdoor playtime
- Uphold high standards of facility sanitization and hygiene to promote a safe environment for animals and staff alike
Experience
- Experience in pet sitting, dog training, or kennel work demonstrates strong animal handling skills and patience
- Proven ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting safely when moving supplies or handling large dogs
- Customer service experience enhances communication with pet owners and ensures positive interactions
- Outdoor work experience supports effective management of outdoor activities like walks and yard maintenance
- Knowledge of animal behavior, pet grooming, and pet boarding best practices will help deliver exceptional care
