JOB SUMMARY

Oversees the general management operations of the CT Scan Department daily practice assuring prudent delegation of duties and responsibilities. Serves as an administrative liaison and represents the department regarding institutional meetings, activities, external agencies and organizations. Manages delivery of health care services to accomplish diagnosis and treatment.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
-
Monitors CT Scan operations to assure compliance with governmental regulations and meets standards established by accrediting agencies. Understands and complies with work rules and safety regulations.
- Overall performance of below indicated essential job duties:

Addresses and responds to concerns or grievances proffered by physicians, staff and patients.

Reports on departmental progress, budget variances, productivity, objectives and operational issues.

Provides avenues for practical instructions, in-services and continuing education concerning personnel, students and other health care professionals. Maintains knowledge of, observes and enforces the practice of universal precautions. Pursues appropriate continuing education and professional development.

Assists with the implementation, support, and daily operation of PACS system.

Oversees and maintains financial portion of CT Scan department (expenditures, Equipment purchases and recommendations, OPR Statement).

Works effectively with other departments throughout the organization (i.e. legal, quality, risk management, IST).

EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
-
Minimum requirement:
-
Certified in Radiology or other discipline by ARRT with advanced ARRT certification in CT
-
Minimum of 5 years experience as Radiologic Technologist
-
Maintains active certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
-
Maintains active Radiographer Operators Certificate (ROC) in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
-
Maintains American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred qualifications:

Completion of UKKD LEAD Academy
