King Philip Regional High School is seeking a collaborative, student-centered instructional leader to join our administrative team as Assistant Principal. Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Principal reports directly to the Principal and serves as a member of the school's leadership team, helping advance the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of King Philip Regional High School.
Instructional Leadership
Support a clear and coherent instructional vision aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, school improvement priorities, and KP's Vision of a Graduate
Supervise, support, and evaluate assigned faculty and staff through the DESE Educator Evaluation Framework
Conduct classroom observations and provide meaningful feedback that promotes professional growth and improved student outcomes
Collaborate with department leaders, counselors, and administrators to analyze student learning data and identify opportunities for improvement
Support professional learning initiatives that promote innovative teaching practices, student engagement, and equitable outcomes for all learners
Contribute to ongoing school improvement and accreditation efforts
Student Support and School Culture
Serve as a grade-level administrator, supporting students' academic progress, attendance, behavioral growth, and overall school experience
Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive school environment where students feel connected, supported, and empowered
Implement student discipline practices that emphasize accountability, relationship-building, restorative approaches, and student growth
Collaborate with counselors, special educators, school psychologists, and support staff to address student needs and ensure appropriate interventions are in place
Support schoolwide efforts related to attendance improvement, student engagement, belonging, and wellness
Promote student leadership opportunities and encourage student voice and agency in school decision-making
Family and Community Engagement
Build strong partnerships with students, families, and community stakeholders
Communicate proactively with families regarding academic progress, attendance, behavioral concerns, and student support plans
Represent the school positively within the broader King Philip community
Collaborate with families and community partners to enhance opportunities for students
Operations and School Management
Assist in the development of the master schedule and other scheduling processes
Support school operations including assessment administration, safety planning, emergency preparedness, and supervision of school events
Coordinate and monitor state assessment programs and related accountability requirements
Assist with the implementation and oversight of school policies and procedures
Assume administrative leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Principal
Leadership and Professional Culture
Help cultivate a positive, collaborative, and high-performing professional culture
Participate in hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and developing faculty and staff
Lead and support committees, initiatives, and projects aligned with school and district priorities
Model professionalism, reflective practice, integrity, and a commitment to continuous improvement
Serve as an active and visible presence throughout the school community
Qualifications
Required
Massachusetts DESE licensure as a Principal/Assistant Principal (9-12)
Master's degree
Minimum of five years of successful educational experience
Demonstrated commitment to supporting the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth of students
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Preferred
Prior administrative experience at the secondary level
Experience with educator evaluation and instructional coaching
Knowledge of restorative practices, MTSS, and student support systems
Experience leading school improvement initiatives and collaborative teams
Demonstrated commitment to equity, belonging, and inclusive educational practices
