Description:
The Foundry Worker will make metal castings, including melting metal, creating molds, casting, finishing, inspecting, maintaining equipment, and monitoring temperatures.
Essential Functions
- Manage the melting and pouring of aluminum castings.
- Manage core making, finishing, and assembly (plaster cores) process.
- Manage mold shake out and casting cleaning process.
- Safely operate overhead crane.
Minimum Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 3 years of manufacturing experience.
- Ability to read and write in English.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong working knowledge of manufacturing principles and quality control methods.
- Ability to interpret 2D drawings, and document process information.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Prolonged periods of standing at a machine.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing-floor setting.
- Physical labor – ability to withstand standing, walking, bending, twisting, and lifting 50 pounds or more.
- Regular use of equipment (overhead cranes, tow motor, melting & pouring equipment, and various tooling)
- Moderate noise levels.
- Exposure to physical hazards and temperature extremes.
