Job Overview
King Machine of Aiken is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Vent Installer to join our Mold Repair team. This role is responsible for installing, fitting, and finishing vents in plastic injection molds to ensure optimal performance, proper airflow, and high-quality part production.
Key Responsibilities
- Install vents in molds using precision tools and machining techniques
- Read and interpret blueprints, mold designs, and engineering specifications
- Perform vent cutting, fitting, and finishing to required tolerances
- Inspect molds for proper venting and identify areas needing improvement
- Collaborate with mold repair technicians and machinists
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Follow all safety and quality standards
Qualifications
- Experience in mold repair, mold making, or precision machining preferred
- Familiarity with venting techniques in injection molds is a plus
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills
- CNC or manual machining experience
- Knowledge of plastic injection molding processes
- Experience with polishing or bench work
