Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Electrician to oversee and execute electrical projects across diverse settings. As a leader on the team, you will coordinate electrical work on construction sites, renovation projects, and ongoing facility operations, guiding junior electricians and ensuring adherence to all safety standards and electrical codes. Duties
- Lead the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of industrial and commercial electrical systems in accordance with local electrical codes and NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring layouts for high-voltage and low-voltage systems.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters, and other power testing equipment.
- Supervise and coordinate a team of electricians on construction sites or renovation projects, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
- Install high-voltage electrical wiring, industrial electrical systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and other automation components critical for industrial operations.
- Maintain strict adherence to electrical safety procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols and NFPA 70 compliance requirements.
- Ensure all work complies with national (NEC) and local electrical codes while reading schematics accurately to guide installation or troubleshooting efforts.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to perform precise electrical work in various environments including construction sites or existing facilities.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential hazards or system failures before they impact operations; document findings thoroughly.
- Mentor junior electricians by sharing technical knowledge on schematics reading, blueprint interpretation, high-voltage wiring techniques, and safety procedures.
Experience
- Proven experience as an electrician with a strong background in industrial and commercial electrical systems installation and maintenance.
- Extensive hands-on experience with high-voltage wiring, low-voltage systems, electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting techniques, and schematic reading.
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical diagrams, and electrical blueprints accurately in diverse project environments.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, local electrical codes, and safety procedures essential for compliance.
- Prior construction site experience including renovation projects; capable of managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines while maintaining safety standards.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as wire strippers, pliers; power tools like drills; testing devices including ohmmeters; and specialized equipment for industrial electrical work.
- Ability to lead a team effectively while fostering a culture of safety awareness; excellent communication skills for coordinating with project managers and clients.
