Qualifications:
- At least 3 years experience in a school setting
- Experience working with students with disabilities and/or 504 processes
- Working knowledge of the Children's Services Act
- Education Minimum- Bachelor's Degree
- Certifications-VA Teaching Certificate with endorsement in special education
- Required: Working knowledge of special education private day and residential placements and Americans with Disabilities Act.
Responsibilities:
- Case manage all private and residential students with disabilities K-12.
- Conducts all IEP and eligibility meetings in conjunction with private placements.
- Monitors caseload student progress towards achieving instructional objectives and goals in the IEPs.
- Develops Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in accordance with federal and state guidelines.
- Maintain files within the base schools of all outplaced students
- Attend transition meetings for students moving between public school settings and private day/residential settings.
- Secures placement once private day setting has been agreed upon by the IEP team.
- Prepares required paperwork and attends FAPT meetings monthly (including summer months).
- Complete CANS assessments required for Special Education outplaced students
- Conduct monthly site visits of private day school students.
- Maintain communication with families and the private day schools.
- Arrange for transportation for outplaced students.
- Meets weekly with the team regarding any upcoming students who may be transitioning between placements.
- Collaborates with school registrars and private placements to ensure grades and transcripts are updated annually.
- Sends monthly attendance to school registrars.
- Monitors student progress towards graduation.
- Provides professional development relevant to assignment.
- Additional duties as assigned within the Department of Special Services.

Salary : $57,207 - $105,207
