We are seeking a Safety Specialist to provide leadership, direction, and critical support to help ensure a safe working environment for all employees and subcontractors on data center construction sites in the Omaha and Lincoln areas. This is an onsite role, working directly in the field to support active construction operations. Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities
- Manage time and resources while providing safety leadership to assigned data center construction projects.
- Assist with daily reporting, safety initiatives, and other safety-related tasks.
- Organize, maintain, and input all testing related to safety and audits.
- Develop site-specific training to educate project management, employees, and subcontractors.
- Promote safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain and strengthen working relationships with staff and subcontractor safety representatives.
- Develop and enforce project safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee the orientation program for new employees, including processing and tracking participation.
- Conduct incident investigations, analyze workplace accidents, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including company policy development and train-the-trainer safety instruction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or a related field, plus a minimum of 2 years of related construction safety experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Completion of OSHA 30-hour training.
- Ability to identify known and potential safety exposures and lead corrective action implementation.
- Familiarity with general construction operations (data center experience is a plus).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including effective presentation delivery.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Analytical thinking, sound judgment, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Travel required; reliable transportation is required.
