About the Role: In this role, you’ll provide excellent customer service and valuable information to our customers, assist with registrations, and handle payments for our various programs. This position works onsite and offers an average of 15 hours per week, with a flexible and event-driven schedule that includes evenings, weekends, special events, and split shifts. It’s a dynamic and fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. 

About the Team: The Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center (WKCAC), a legacy venue from the 1990 Seattle Goodwill Games, stands as one of the premier natatoriums in the nation, featuring both diving and swimming complexes. Renowned for hosting the 2000 and 2012 Olympic Diving Trials, it hosted the BIG-12 Swimming and Diving Championships and the 2025 NCAA Swimming Championships. 

With one of the most active competition schedules in the country, WKCAC features all-day events, including high-profile televised national and international competitions that significantly enhance King County’s reputation. Beyond its competitive offerings, the facility welcomes the public for team training, lap swims, family swims, and swimming lessons, while also providing a banquet hall for weddings, parties, and corporate events.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all external and internal customers via telephone, in writing and/or in person and provide program specific information
  • Collect admissions fees and register patrons for scheduled programs. Handle multiple-step transactions such as receiving and/or issuing receipts, forms, cash and documents. 
  • Educate patrons of rules and policies of the King County Aquatic Center. 
  • Respond to emergency situations; follow facility protocol for reporting damage, incidents or injuries. 
  • Complete reports accurately and in a timely manner. 
  • Perform data entry.

Qualifications You Bring

  • Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
  • Experience providing customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to positively interact with a variety of people in a diverse work environment.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and processing payments accurately.
  • Ability to effectively use computers and office software.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions. 
  • Ability to use discretion, patience, proper etiquette, and professionalism to establish and maintain effective relationships, even in challenging situations.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to perform physical tasks that may involve bending, kneeling, standing, reaching, climbing, stooping, squatting, pushing, and twisting.

Required Certifications:

  • Maintenance of current CPR and First Aid certifications, or willing to certify within 6 months.

It Would Be Great if You Also Bring:

  • Previous experience of handling cash or using a POS (Point of Sale) system
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills. 
  • Possess and maintain current American Red Cross certifications: Community First Aid and CPR/FPR.

Work Schedule: This part-time position works an average of 15 hours per week. This position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible.
Union Representation: This position is not represented by a union.
