TRANSPORTATION AND ATTENDANCE COORDINATOR
OFFICE CLERK: Under current New York State Law, candidates seeking employment with school districts in New York State will be required to undergo fingerprinting and a criminal history background check prior to appointment.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The work involves the performance of standardized clerical tasks such as routine typing. Work is performed under the direct supervision of a higher ranking employee, who gives detailed instructions for new assignments and practices. Does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
- Types letters and forms as needed
- Assists parents in registering in home district as appropriate
- Serve as point person for all student level SMS data entry (PowerSchool experience preferred but not required).
- Keeping transportation files, records and receipts
- McKinney-Vento Coordinator
- Creating and updating bus tags for all students
- Confirming transportation services for all current and newly enrolled students
- Checks email and voicemail messages regularly and responds to requests
- Communicates with multiple stakeholders around morning and afternoon transportation
- Coordinates with bus company for field trips
- Creates and maintains spreadsheets of student data
- Managing office duties as needed in the absence of the Executive Assistant
- Confirming daily attendance, tardies, and absence logs for all students
- Positive relationship with busing companies and staff
- Positive relationship with all King Center stakeholders
- Comply with all regional, state, and federal mandates
- Uphold the mission, vision, and values of King Center
- Other duties as assigned by the Principal
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Working knowledge of office terminology procedures and equipment; working knowledge of business arithmetic and English; ability to type from clear copy or rough draft at a reasonable rate of speed; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to write legibly; clerical aptitude; mental alertness; neatness; tact and courtesy; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma. Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
Salary : $25,000 - $75,000
