What are the responsibilities and job description for the (PART-TIME) Field Supervisor, Underground Utility Construction position at King Cable Construction Corp.?
JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a Field Supervisor, it is imperative and expected that you always maintain a safe and productive work environment. The goal is to increase production and minimize damages in a safe manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Brief employees at yard about job issues/homeowners.
- Complete safety check on vehicles, equipment, and uniforms.
- Fuel vehicles.
- Office duties: print jobs, make contact with homeowners/PM’s, white line jobs.
- Request initial pictures of jobs in the morning from field employees.
- Submit rock request pictures to owner and office via email.
- Check on employees and production at jobs sites.
- Update office and owner of daily progress.
- Complete QC checklists on each job while crews are onsite.
- Make sure that you have all the necessary job supplies for the day.
- Ensure that field workers are inspecting all vehicle functions at the beginning of each workday.
- Notify the owner of any issues with vehicles.
- Visit job sites at random.
- All employees should conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner when contacting homeowner/business representatives and while working on job sites.
- Make sure job is marked completely by all utilities.
- Ensure that job pictures are sent to the office throughout the day
- Ensure that field workers are aware and comply with all safety precautions and measures.
- Ensure all rock pictures are sent to Office Assistant for invoicing upon receipt from field workers.
- Accurately record and notify owner and clients of rock or additional adders for approval i.e. concrete and asphalt cuts.
- Order sod for restoration.
- Monitor vehicle maintenance and equipment maintenance.
- Make sure each job is restored 100% via checklist and pictures.
- Make sure jobs are 100% located prior to starting.
- Make contact with business representatives/homeowners for access prior or upon arrival to job site.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Assertive / determined / detail - deadline-oriented personality with the ability to anticipate problems and master details.
- Must be able to perform various construction-related activities including, but not limited to, lifting 50 lbs., sitting or standing for extended periods, driving a vehicle, and physically negotiating a construction site.
- Must possess good computer skills with working knowledge of MS-Windows MS-Word, Excel, MS-Project, and MS-Outlook.
- Experience managing large projects with various resources including subcontractors, in-house, local, and out-of-state subs/employees.
- Proven experience in managing multiple disciplines of construction activities including splicing, directional drilling, aerial construction, micro trench, etc.
- Bilingual. Must speak Spanish.
