What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operator - Shuttle Buggy position at King Asphalt, Inc.?
PURPOSE:
Perform duties to set the shuttle buggy and paver up for operation, to maintain a smooth, consistent and correctly aligned lay down of asphalt.
JOB DUTIES:
Check all fluid levels at the beginning of engine startup for the day. Monitor and maintain gauges, fluid levels, operation and function throughout the day during operation.
Maintain awareness of unusual noises or operations and bring any exceptions to the attention of the foreman.
The ability to perform light mechanical adjustments and to assist mechanic performing repairs on assigned equipment. Assist with the lubrication and fueling of the paver.
The ability to set the paver up for operation at the beginning of each operation. Adjust the operation according to the asphalt lay down specification.
The ability to monitor the flow of asphalt into the paver hooper. Keep travels online. Monitor the paver equipment to ensure proper operation.
The ability to operate the shuttle buggy in a manner to assure the safety of personnel around and on the shuttle buggy.
The ability to operate the shuttle buggy around curbs, structures, tools, and equipment, so as not to cause damage to them.
Clean the shuttle buggy at the end of the day.
The ability to work at nights and work extended shifts when project dictates.
Follow safety rules and keep equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
