We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to oversee supplier quality performance, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, customer, and regulatory requirements. This role works closely with suppliers, engineering, manufacturing, and operations to improve product quality, resolve nonconformances, and support supplier development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, audit, and improve supplier quality systems and manufacturing processes.
- Conduct supplier audits and provide technical guidance to improve quality performance.
- Investigate supplier quality issues, manage corrective actions (CARs), and verify effectiveness.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics, including quality, delivery, and nonconformance trends.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations to resolve quality concerns.
- Support Quality Management System (QMS) compliance, internal audits, MRB activities, and inspection processes.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Assist with inspection training, supplier development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Travel approximately 30% (primarily local supplier visits).
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 years of Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 2 years of Supplier Quality Engineering experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, GD&T, SPC, root cause analysis, and quality auditing.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
