Overview
Our intelligent structures team is building low rate production, large carbon fiber infused structures complete with integrated sensors in a modern digital manufacturing facility. As a manufacturing technician you will be working both hands on traditional composites as well as new automated equipment and robotic inspection systems.
Responsibilities
- Operate manufacturing equipment and hand tools to fabricate, assemble, and finish composite parts
- Operate automated process equipment and digital work instructions
- Handle materials safely and efficiently, including loading, unloading, and storage within the warehouse environment
- Assist with the setup and calibration of machinery such as machining tools and fabrication equipment
- Conduct quality checks throughout the manufacturing process to ensure specifications are met
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace adhering to safety standards and procedures
- Support materials handling activities, including forklift operation when certified
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks and component fabrication projects
Experience
- Prior experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly environments preferred
- Knowledge of composite materials and related fabrication processes is a plus
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and composite techniques
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers, or automated manufacturing equipment, industrial robots or autoclaves
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience using hand tools for construction or assembly tasks
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols diligently
