Director of Professional Services | Hybrid (Torrance, CA or Plano, TX) | $155K–$185K
We're looking for a Director of Professional Services to own end-to-end delivery of IT consulting engagements, from pre-sales scoping through implementation and handoff to managed services. This is a senior leadership role with direct accountability for revenue realization, contribution margin, and team performance.
What You'll Own
- Hit contribution margin targets of 51–55% across the consulting portfolio and meet annual revenue realization goals
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of consultants and project managers, managing utilization, skill development, and performance
- Oversee all active engagements to ensure projects are delivered on time (95%) and on budget (95%)
- Partner with sales on pre-sales activities including scoping, solution design, effort estimation, and client presentations
- Establish and enforce standardized delivery processes, documentation, and handoff procedures to managed services
- Identify scope creep, resource constraints, and technical blockers early and manage risk proactively
- Build repeatable consulting offerings and convert project work into managed services agreements
What We're Looking For
- 7 years in MSP, professional services, consulting, or IT project delivery
- 7 years leading technical teams
- MSP experience is required
- Broad technical fluency across cloud (Azure), infrastructure, endpoint, security, backup/DR, and networking
- Strong financial acumen: budgeting, cost estimation, margin analysis, resource planning
- Pre-sales experience including proposal development and client presentations
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Cisco Meraki, and IT service management frameworks
- Relevant certifications a plus (PMP, ITIL, Microsoft, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree in IT or related field preferred
