Responsibilities
- Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with animal examinations, treatments, and procedures, ensuring proper restraint and safety protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kennels, treatment areas, and surgical suites to promote a sterile environment.
- Provide basic animal husbandry duties including feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring animals’ health status.
- Handle a variety of animals including dogs and cats with gentle restraint techniques aligned with veterinary standards.
- Assist with laboratory procedures such as sample collection and preparation.
- Manage front desk responsibilities including client communication, appointment scheduling, and maintaining accurate records.
- Support veterinary critical care activities by monitoring hospitalized animals and reporting any changes in condition promptly.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with staff members to ensure seamless clinic operations.
Qualifications
- Previous kennel experience or animal handling background is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, restraint techniques, and aseptic procedures is essential.
- Experience with medication administration, laboratory work, and veterinary terminology is advantageous.
- Familiarity with pet care routines, dog handling skills, and pet safety practices is required.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record-keeping and task management.
