POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Technician to join our team. As an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for assembling, troubleshooting, configuring, and installing electrical harnesses and other electromechanical components onto our vehicles. Your background in the manufacturing and electrical field will be crucial in crafting our vehicles to meet the unique preferences and needs of our clients. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to assemble wire harnesses with high attention to quality and detail.
  • Perform wire harness installation on vehicles.
  • Use computers and tablets regularly to communicate with systems in the vehicles.
  • Develop, document, and execute standardized work instructions for electrical harness production processes.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair wire harnesses and electrical components on both ICE vehicles and EVs.
  • Operate and maintain a wide variety of shop tools, power tools, and automotive electrical testing equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • 2 years’ experience working on electrical systems of either cars or industrial machinery, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to disassemble, repair, and assemble electrical components and parts.
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment and achieve common goals.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work in a fast-paced startup manufacturing environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Desire and ability to work with various technology platforms.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Experience building complete automotive wiring harnesses and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical malfunctions.
  • Experience installing vehicle wire harnesses and related components on a variety of automobiles.
  • Knowledge of the standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment used in the assembly and maintenance of motor vehicles and engines, including EVs.
  • Ability to read mechanical and automotive blueprints, diagrams, and manuals.
  • Skill in the use of a variety of automotive diagnostic testing and tuning equipment.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in assembly of motorized vehicles and equipment.
  • Skill in the use of a variety of hand tools.
  • Experience training technicians.
  • Experience with professional shop safety and 5S programs.

The work environment may include exposure to noise, fumes, and heat. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times in accordance with safety regulations.

Walking, sitting, standing, bending, and stooping. Lifting, carrying, or pushing/pulling supplies, materials, equipment and/or items weighing up to 75 pounds. Clean and well-organized unconditioned shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but at times requires ear plugs, use of eye protection, and/or occasional use of a respirator.
