Support Services Advocate – Part-Time | Kindred Kids Child Advocacy Center | Cañon City, CO
Kindred Kids Child Advocacy Center, a National Children's Alliance-accredited nonprofit serving Colorado's 11th Judicial District, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated part-time Support Services Advocate (20 hours/week) to join our multidisciplinary team.
About the Role: The Support Services Advocate provides direct services — including crisis intervention, emotional support, and referrals — to children, families, and adult victims served through our Child Advocacy Center. This grant-funded position plays a vital role in ensuring victims are informed, supported, and connected to resources throughout the investigative and legal process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site support to victims and non-offending caregivers during CAC visits
- Serve as liaison between families, law enforcement, the DA's Office, and community service agencies
- Assist clients with Crime Victim Compensation applications and Victim Rights information
- Connect families to mental health, medical, and community resources
- Maintain client records and facilitate outcome measurement documentation
- Assist with day-to-day administrative functions of the center
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in human services or a related field, OR 2 years of experience in victim advocacy, law enforcement, or human services
- Ability to work non-traditional hours, including on-call nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must pass a background check and respond to crisis situations within 40 minutes
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Pay: $21.00 per hour
