Position Summary
Under general supervision, the OR Staff Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with the established policies and procedures of Southwestern Medical Center to patients of all ages undergoing surgical intervention, with special emphasis placed on sterile technique, perioperative nursing care and provision of appropriate equipment.
Qualifications
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Registered Nurse License issued by the State of Oklahoma or as part of a compact.
BLS
ACLS and PALS (or obtains within 3 months of hire)
NIH Stroke Annually (and obtains by end of Clinical Nursing Orientation)
Oklahoma Rights & Responsibilities Certificate (Medical Treatment Laws Information Act) every 2 years (and obtains by end of Clinical Nursing Orientation)
Education
Graduate from an accredited nursing program
Maintains education and development appropriate for position
Experience:
1 year operating room experience preferred
