Responsibilities
Strategic Warehouse Leadership
- Provide oversight for all warehouse functions including receiving, storage, material dispensing, distribution, and shipping.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and long-term strategies to ensure compliance, efficiency, and scalability.
- Partner with leadership to forecast capacity, resource needs, and space utilization.
- Lead, coach, and mentor warehouse supervisors and staff across multiple shifts.
- Define organizational structure, staffing levels, and succession planning.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing professional development.
- Ensure warehouse operations comply with cGMP, GDP, OSHA, DEA, and client requirements.
- Serve as primary point of contact for regulatory inspections and client audits related to warehouse activities.
- Own warehouse-related SOPs and ensure timely revisions, training, and implementation.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Project Management to align warehouse operations with client project timelines.
- Provide warehouse data and metrics to leadership for decision-making.
- Manage warehouse budget, including labor, materials, and capital expenses.
- Oversee ERP/WMS utilization, ensuring accurate and timely data entry for material transactions.
- Drive improvements in inventory accuracy, cycle count programs, and discrepancy resolution.
- Lead Lean/GMP initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and optimize material flow.
- Ensure compliance with EHSS policies and maintain a strong safety culture.
- Track and report KPIs related to warehouse performance (inventory accuracy, on-time material availability, audit readiness, etc.).
- Lead or support cross-functional projects (ERP upgrades, process improvements, sustainability initiatives).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of warehouse/distribution experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated manufacturing environment.
- Management: 4 years of people management experience (supervisors, leads, staff).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of cGMP, GDP, FDA, EMA, DEA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and presenting in audits/inspections.
- ERP/WMS system proficiency required; SAP or equivalent preferred.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including client-facing interactions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced CDMO environment.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, talk, or hear.
- Must be able to lift/move up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to adjust focus; moderate noise level in the work environment.
- Minimal travel (5–10%) both within the U.S. and abroad.
- Must manage multiple priorities, meetings, and communications across global teams.
- Willingness to work beyond typical hours, which may include weekends or holidays, to meet deadlines.
