Job Overview
Kinderoo Preschool is seeking a dependable, caring, and flexible Preschool Teacher's Assistant to join our team. This position will primarily support our Infant and Toddler classrooms, assisting teachers with daily classroom activities, routines, and the overall care and supervision of children.
Because classroom needs may change throughout the school year, the ideal candidate must be flexible and willing to assist in different classrooms as needed based on enrollment, staffing, and business needs.
We strongly prefer candidates who are fluent in English, Portugese and Spanish. However, English proficiency is required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Assist with feeding, diapering, toileting, nap time, and other daily routines as appropriate for the age group.
- Support age-appropriate learning activities, lesson plans, and classroom experiences.
- Interact with children in a positive, patient, and nurturing manner.
- Help monitor children's health, safety, behavior, and overall well-being.
- Follow all Kinderoo policies and procedures.
- Follow all applicable Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) childcare regulations and requirements.
- Maintain appropriate supervision of children at all times.
- Assist with classroom cleaning, sanitizing, organization, and preparation.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with teachers, administrators, children, and families.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and school operations.
- Be willing to assist in other classrooms when needed based on the operational needs of the school.
- Perform other duties related to the position as assigned by school administration.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience working with infants and/or toddlers.
- Required: Completion of the Florida DCF-required 45-hour childcare training.
- English proficiency is required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred.
- Must be available to work a schedule that includes working until 6:30 PM.
- Must be dependable, punctual, responsible, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Must demonstrate patience, professionalism, and a genuine interest in working with young children.
- Must be willing and able to work in different classrooms as needed based on the school's staffing and business needs.
- Must meet all applicable Florida childcare employment, background screening, and DCF requirements.
- Must be able to safely perform the physical duties associated with caring for infants and toddlers, including lifting and carrying children when necessary.
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
