Purpose

This role is designed to support our Occupational Therapy team (KidsClinic) in developing, coordinating, and implementing family support plans as part of Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT) for children aged birth to three who demonstrate neurodevelopmental, physical, and/or sensory differences.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Work with 3–11-year-old pediatrics to provide occupational therapy services
  • Assess each child's functional motor skills/abilities/challenges; conduct formal evaluations of performance; design and implement treatment plan at Kindering; prepare progress reports; review medical reports; seek medical referral, consultation, and advice as necessary; and maintain accurate records of contact for each child
  • Educate family/care givers in therapeutic interventions; design and/or assist in developing and ordering adaptive equipment.
  • Make referrals to appropriate community or Kindering programs, support groups, and other services
  • Assist in supervision of student therapists
  • Provide or support outreach, intensive informing, care planning, coordination, anticipatory guidance for complex health needs, assistance to access services, consultation, resource development, interagency coordination, training, program planning, quality management, and administration to support Medicaid programs
  • Assess each child's functional motor skills/abilities/challenges; conduct formal evaluations of performance; design and implement treatment plan in Center, home, or community childcare as needed; prepare progress reports; review medical reports; seek medical referral, consultation, and advice as necessary; and maintain accurate records of contact for each child
  • Evaluate home, daycare, or school situation through site visits if indicated; educate family/care givers in therapeutic interventions; design and/or assist in developing and ordering adaptive equipment
  • Participate in the development of each child's total program as part of the interdisciplinary team
  • Coordinate enrollment/transitions into appropriate community or Kindering Center programs, support groups, and other services; coordinate case management meetings with community agencies
Qualifications:

Required Education & Experience

  • B.S. degree in Occupational Therapy; master's degree preferred
  • Valid Washington State professional license
  • Possess a valid Washington State CPR/First Aid certification or be in process of obtaining one
  • Looking for additional language proficiency with Spanish preferred
  • Training in neurodevelopmental treatment techniques preferred
  • Experience working with young children who have neuromuscular and developmental disorders, or a professional commitment to develop proficiency in this specialty
  • Experience and comfort with interacting with diverse populations
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Ability to demonstrate dependability and punctuality

Minimum Prerequisites

  • Possess a valid Washington State DOH OT license or be in process of obtaining one
  • Demonstrate skill in word processing and familiarity with MS Word and Excel
  • Pass Washington State DSHS criminal history and background check and FBI fingerprint check
  • Strictly maintain confidentiality of all client information
  • Maintain valid unexpired proof of identity during employment
  • Pass tuberculosis test
  • Ability to show proof of current immunizations, including COVID-19 and MMR vaccine or titer test*

Salary : $72,000 - $117,000
