Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging learning environment that fosters the academic and social development of students. This role requires a strong commitment to education, particularly in areas such as special education, behavioral health, literacy education, and more. The Lead Teacher will guide classroom activities, manage student behavior, and collaborate with other educators to ensure all students receive the support they need to thrive.
Duties
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that supports students with developmental disabilities and promotes their individual growth.
- Utilize effective behavior management strategies to maintain a positive classroom atmosphere.
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly to meet educational needs.
- Collaborate with other teachers and specialists in areas such as special education, deaf education, physical education, math, and literacy education.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Supervise classroom aides or assistants when applicable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; teaching certification preferred.
- Experience working with students who have special needs or behavioral health challenges is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of literacy education, math instruction, physical education, and classroom management techniques.
- Ability to create individualized educational plans for students as needed.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that respects diversity among students.
- Previous experience in teaching or educational leadership roles is a plus.

Pay: $12.74 - $14.03 per hour
