Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that support early childhood development, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills.
• Provide attentive toddler care and preschool instruction that fosters curiosity and independence.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management strategies.
• Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, needs, and achievements to build strong partnerships.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Conduct assessments of child development milestones and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
• Follow mandated reporting laws to ensure the safety of all children in your care.

Skills

• Proven experience working with children in early childhood education settings or childcare environments.
• Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, including special education and early intervention strategies.
• Skilled in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and child welfare practices.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
• Ability to implement standardized testing when appropriate to monitor progress.
• Experience teaching physical education activities that promote motor skills development.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is required or willing to obtain upon hire.
• Familiarity with preschool teaching standards, private school environments, and mandated reporting laws.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques tailored for young children with diverse needs.
