What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crew Leader position at Kinder Morgan?
The Crew Leader is responsible for leading four Technicians in the daily activities associated with operating and supporting the Latigo Storage Field and Station and other associated Pipeline equipment in Division 2.
As a working member of a team, this position will manage or assist in the management of the work group to include mentoring and coaching employees, conducting performance reviews, participating in employment and termination decisions, and providing technical training.
- As a working member of a team, incumbent will perform hands-on technician work.
- Responsible for compliance with all applicable governmental regulations and company policies, specifications, and procedures.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of job plans and cost-effective work procedures.
- Assists in the development of the annual capital and O&M budgets.
- Assist with forecasting of O&M and Capital budgets.
- Manage location projects, including obtaining cost estimates, developing project scopes, and submitting projects for future budgets.
- Ensures projects are completed within prescribed budgets and time constraints.
- As a company representative, interact with Gas Control, Engineering, Project Management, customers, suppliers, and contractors.

- Maintain OpQual tasks and qualify as a proctor. Ensure compliance with Operator Qualification (OQ) program.
- Oversee construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties to include materials and contractor sourcing and coordination.
- Work with Operations Supervisor to plan and prioritize daily work activities and projects. Direct and monitor daily work assignments, interpreting job orders from management, and assigning duties to employees assuring compliance with all rules and regulations as well as safety.
- Participate in all location audits.
- Assist with the management of the Latigo PSM program assuring compliance.
- Develop strong understanding of completing and verifying proper completion of Maximo and CAM WO’s.
- Ensure compliance work orders are completed in a timely manner in CAM, Maximo, AAT, KM MOC, PCMS and other regulatory programs Kinder Morgan utilizes.
- Develop and/or review safe work plans, shut-out plans, JSA’s, site specific procedures, project scopes, and monitor work activities as necessary to ensure plans and procedures are being followed.
- Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of facilities and equipment, including pipeline right-of-way, and gathering or storage areas.

- High School Diploma or GED
Experience, competencies, abilities and knowledge:
- An understanding of plant controls and automation.
- An understanding of engine exhaust emissions and emissions testing requirements.

Physical demands:
- Must be able to withstand extreme conditions; will work outside in all environmental conditions.
- Must be able to frequently: climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders, and walkways.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions, and 50 pounds from floor to waist.
- Must be able to see, hear, walk, and talk effectively.
- Climb and work from ladders, catwalks, staging, and platforms.
- Ascend and descend slopes and ditches.
Working Conditions:
- Required to carry a company-provided cell phone and respond to calls, text messages, and emails as needed. and be available to respond during working hours, and non-working hours, Weekends, and Holidays as needed.
- Must live within a reasonable response time from the reporting location (45 minutes from Latigo Storage).
- Must be able to drive and work in all weather conditions including extreme hot or cold.
- Depending upon the location and workload, travel may be required.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
Pay range: $55.00 per hour. This position includes a discretionary annual incentive plan. Job level and pay commensurate with experience and skill set.
