The Maintenance Technician/Operator is responsible for completing the maintenance, calibration, repair of equipment related to the movement and storage of products and terminal operations.
What You Will Do
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently assist with the installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting and repair of all equipment to include valves, gauges, meters, tanks, pumps, boilers, air compressors, etc., and familiarity with automation systems/PLCs
- Perform troubleshooting activities to evaluate (and conduct minor repairs) on Truck Rack PLC, heavy equipment such as forklifts, manlifts, company trucks and telehandlers.
- Perform maintenance and service duties including completion of documentation and recordkeeping. Daily use of computers for communications, training, maintenance tracking and inventory purposes.
- Compliance with all Company Safety Rules and Regulations while performing all duties, and attendance to all assigned training courses for operations and safety.
- Coordinate with Operations as needed to minimize operational impacts.
- Perform periodic visual inspections of tanks and equipment.
- Complete required reports and notes activity by handwritten entry into a daily log, or electronically.
- Recognize the scope of work performed by third parties and the limits of what third parties may and may not do on Company property to protect Company assets.
- Ability to accept supervision and direction and work cooperatively with others.
- Perform operations tasks such as opening and closing valves and tanks, loading/unloading tanker trucks, railcars, totes, and drums.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Need
- High School Degree or equivalent.
- 2-year degree or technical school degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Corrosion or equivalent combination of school, training and experience is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of work experience or apprenticeship performing maintenance activities in at least one of the core disciplines.
- Through successful work history, demonstrate the ability to perform basic maintenance activities in at least one of the core competencies.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills (send and receive email, perform inventory accounting, and enter repair work orders).
- While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent may be required to stand; walk, sit, ascend/descend stairs; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work traditional day shift schedule Monday through Fridays, respond to callouts and work overtime afterhours/weekends as needed.
- Tasks are performed indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
