ResponsibilitiesCreate and follow a comprehensive curriculumDesign and implement a daily and weekly scheduleTeach beginning reading and math skillsAssist children with developing social and emotional skillsUse a range of instructional methods and learning techniquesProvide basic care and care giving activitiesMust be a team Player and able to direct and lead a classCommunicate with parents and other school personnelAssess student's skills and performance to ensure they are meeting developmental milestonesStrong understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom managementExcellent verbal and written communication skillsKnowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelinesProblem-solving and mediation skillsQualificationsEducation: High school diploma, certificate of high school equivalency or successful completion of college courses for creditCourse Work6 semester, 90clock hours or equivalent of approved early childhood coursework, or Approved as a teacher or educational Director for kindergarten or grade 1-8, orHold a teaching certificate from MSDE or any other state for kindergarten or grades 1-8Experience:1 year of experience working with preschoolers in an approved setting, or1 year of college, orcombination of experience and college that equals 1 yearOther Requirements:At least 9 clock hours of approved training in communicating with staff, parents and the public or successful completion of at least 1 academic college course taken for creditCurrent Basic Health and CPR & First AIDContinued Training-: 12 clock hours
