Role Description Managers/Mortgage Loan Originators at Kind Lending are responsible for overseeing the mortgage sales process while originating residential mortgage loans for borrowers and broker partners. In this full-time hybrid role based in Portland, OR, team members balance in-office collaboration with some work-from-home flexibility to manage pipelines, meet with clients and brokers, and coordinate with internal operations. Daily activities include assessing borrower needs, guiding clients through loan options, collecting and reviewing documentation, and ensuring accurate and compliant loan files. The role also involves collaborating with underwriting and processing teams, monitoring loan status, and communicating updates to all stakeholders. Managers/Mortgage Loan Originators are expected to build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and referral partners, contribute to local market growth, and uphold Kind Lending’s “People Before Profits” values in every interaction.

Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mortgage Lending and Loans, with the ability to navigate various residential mortgage products and programs.
- Demonstrated expertise in Loan Origination, including client consultation, application intake, and end-to-end pipeline management.
- Experience with Underwriting principles, credit analysis, and documentation standards to support accurate, compliant loan decisions.
- Solid understanding of Finance concepts relevant to mortgage lending, interest rates, and borrower qualification.
- Current or recent Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) licensing as required by state and federal regulations; NMLS registration in good standing.
- Proven track record in mortgage sales or broker-facing roles, with strong relationship-building and business development skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service abilities, with a commitment to delivering a positive client experience.
