Duties
- Plan, organize, and implement engaging recreational activities tailored to school-age children, including sports, arts, theater, and educational games.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques to ensure a respectful and inclusive environment.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety at all times with vigilant classroom management.
- Provide first aid and respond promptly to any minor injuries or emergencies, maintaining health and safety standards.
- Support children with special education needs by adapting activities and providing individualized assistance to promote inclusive participation.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other staff to communicate progress, address concerns, and coordinate care plans as needed.
- Foster a nurturing environment rooted in childhood development principles and Christian counseling practices when appropriate.
Experience
- Previous experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp counseling, tutoring, or babysitting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development strategies to support age-appropriate learning.
- Demonstrated classroom management skills to maintain a positive atmosphere conducive to learning and recreation.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain these certifications if not already certified.
- Familiarity with special education techniques and behavior management strategies to support diverse needs of children.
- Experience in sports coaching or theater arts can enhance activity planning and engagement efforts.
