Job Description
The Nursing Scheduler is responsible for preparing nursing schedules and maintain appropriate staffing levels in the nursing department on a 24-hour basis. The Nursing Scheduler has 24-hour on-call support responsibilities to fill urgent, last-minute shift openings to ensure continuous coverage on the floor. The Nursing Scheduler is required to be available to work on-site on weekends.

The Nursing Scheduler is responsible for preparing nursing schedules and maintain appropriate staffing levels in the nursing department on a 24-hour basis. The Nursing Scheduler has 24-hour on-call support responsibilities to fill urgent, last-minute shift openings to ensure continuous coverage on the floor. The Nursing Scheduler is required to be available to work on-site on weekends.
Role And Responsibilities
- Creates, updates, and maintains master schedules for Licensed Nurse and NAC according to budget and operational needs;
- Reviews daily schedules to find replacement for staff for any unfilled shifts or staff call-outs;
- Works closely with recruiting agencies to fill any existing vacancy in an appropriate way;
- Has 24-hour on-call support responsibilities especially including responding to call-outs and emergencies and filling open shifts immediately;
- Contacts available employees through phone, text, and/or emails to find coverage;
- Maintains accurate records of staff availability, hours, preferences, and incidents;
- Updates assignment sheets for Licensed Nurse and NAC in real-time on a daily basis;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Experience of a healthcare employee working at long term care facilities highly preferred.
- Healthcare employee scheduling experience highly preferred.
- Microsoft software (Excel, Word) applications and utilization required.
- Prior related office experience preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills necessary.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills; able to deal effectively with diverse personalities.
- Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.
