What are the responsibilities and job description for the Groomer All-Star position at KIMS PET GROOMING LLC?
Experienced Dog Groomer — Leadership Potential
Grooming by Kim / Uptown Pet Spa is looking for an experienced, dependable dog groomer to join our team.
We are a locally owned, owner-operated grooming salon with a relaxed, low-drama atmosphere. Our owner works in the shop daily and is looking for a true superstar and self-starter—someone who takes pride in their work, supports the entire salon, and may be interested in growing into a leadership or management role over time.
Current Schedule
We are primarily looking for availability on:
Sundays
Tuesdays
Thursdays
Additional days and hours may become available as we move into the busy holiday season.
What We’re Looking For
The right person will be:
An experienced and confident dog groomer
Reliable, punctual, and ready to work
A self-starter who can manage their schedule and responsibilities without constant supervision
Kind, patient, and safety-conscious with dogs
Comfortable communicating professionally with clients
Willing to support coworkers and step in wherever needed
Calm, mature, and committed to maintaining a positive, drama-free workplace
Interested in becoming a valuable long-term member of the salon
Potentially capable of growing into additional leadership or management responsibilities
Responsibilities
Complete full-service dog grooming appointments from start to finish
Safely handle dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages, temperaments, and coat conditions
Consult with clients and clearly communicate grooming recommendations
Maintain accurate notes regarding grooming instructions, pet behavior, skin or health concerns, and future service recommendations
Bathe, dry, brush, de-shed, trim nails, and perform other salon services as needed
Fill in for bathing and general salon-support duties when necessary
Answer phones and assist with scheduling or basic administrative tasks
Help check dogs in and out
Collect or process client information and payments as assigned
Keep the grooming station and shared salon areas clean, sanitary, and organized
Support smooth daily salon operations without needing to be repeatedly directed
Follow all shop safety, sanitation, animal-handling, and incident-reporting procedures
Equipment
Applicants must provide and maintain their own professional grooming tools and equipment, including clippers, blades, shears, combs, brushes, and other personal grooming supplies required to perform their work.
The salon provides the primary work area and standard shop equipment.
Our Shop Environment
Grooming by Kim / Uptown Pet Spa is owned and managed directly by the owner, who is present and actively involved in the shop each day.
Our environment is:
Low-key and low-pressure
Friendly and fun
Supportive and team-oriented
Professional without feeling overly corporate
Focused on quality care, safety, and good client relationships
Committed to maintaining a respectful, no-drama workplace
We work hard, help one another, and want someone who notices what needs to be done and steps in without being asked.
Growth Opportunity
This position has the potential to grow beyond an individual grooming role. We would especially like to meet someone who demonstrates initiative, good judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to help lead daily salon operations.
For the right person, future responsibilities could include helping coordinate workflow, supporting and training team members, assisting with client concerns, and taking on additional salon-management duties.
To Apply
Please send the following:
Your name and contact information
A brief description of your grooming experience
Your availability, particularly on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays
Photos or a portfolio of your recent grooming work
The breeds, sizes, and grooming services you are comfortable handling
Any leadership, front-desk, scheduling, or salon-management experience
We are looking for someone dependable, talented, flexible, and ready to become an important part of our shop—not someone who wants to simply groom their scheduled dogs and leave the rest of the team behind.
