As the General Superintendent, you will oversee and coordinate the work of all field crews to ensure operations are performed safely, efficiently, and within budget. You will be responsible for workforce planning, field leadership, equipment coordination, and ensuring compliance with contract requirements. This role demands strong communication, field operations expertise, and the ability to drive production results across multiple job sites.
Key Responsibilities
• Confirm all 911 locates are current and documented
• Inspect field work regularly to ensure compliance with project specifications
• Monitor timesheets daily for accuracy and alignment with production objectives
• Take corrective action when projects are not meeting established goals
• Plan and manage equipment on all active projects
• Oversee equipment transfers and ensure proper utilization
• Conduct annual evaluations for each foreman
• Provide basic training to new foremen on company procedures, documentation, and workflows
• Support improvement of workforce quality and performance
• Review trucking dispatch daily
• Collaborate with estimators and foremen during bid review processes
• Maintain regular communication with PMs and Assistant PMs regarding project status
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to review budgets, production goals, and performance metrics
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple crews and projects concurrently
• Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
€¢ Prior Supervisory Or Superintendent Experience Required
• Basic computer skills for email, text communication, and documentation
• Strong understanding of equipment coordination and field production management
• Experience working with Project Managers and estimators on schedules, dispatching, and reviews
