Kimley-Horn is seeking a Power Systems Engineer with 4 years of experience to join our Power Delivery team in our Frisco, Texas office. Responsibilities
- Support the power electrical team to analyze systems, create software models, and write reports for various projects e.g. commercial, industrial and generation projects
- Studies performed may include (per candidate experience):
- Load Flow / Reactive Power Analysis
- Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination studies using ETAP or any steady state power system tool
- Transient studies using PSS/E and PSCAD
- Harmonic studies using ETAP, PSCAD or transient software
- Partner with the electrical team to create calculations and drawings for various project types
- Continually gain knowledge in power & energy industry
- Assist with project design, specifications, and plans support
- Review work with quality in mind to confirm compliance with Kimley-Horn quality standards
- 4 years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer for an engineering firm doing power studies.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
- ETAP experience reqiured
- Load Flow, Coordination, Short Circuit, and Arc Flash studies basic theory and methodology (and ability to create models)
- Proficiency using Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (AutoCAD)
- The ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
