Responsibilities
The CAD Operator will be responsible for generating plan and detailed drawings for construction projects. Candidates with experience in gas distribution, gas transmission, pipelines, meter/regulator stations, and compressor stations are encouraged to apply. The operator's duties will include the following:
- Generating drawings using Kimley-Horn standards, client standards, and industry best practices
- Performing quality checks of drawings and revising them based on markups and design directions from clients or engineers
- Creating templates and tools for efficient execution of design projects
- Ensuring CAD software is up to date and optimized for project execution
- Maintaining the drawing database
- Supervising and training drafters and designers as required
- Maintaining knowledge of Kimley-Horn practices, procedures, and standards
- Maintaining knowledge of client and industry standards
- Working independently within the scope of assigned work to complete tasks within the designated hours and schedule
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred)
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Proficient in 3D CAD design
- Experience using CADWorx for piping design
- Familiarity with instrumentation, electrical equipment and controls, P&ID, and loop/wiring diagrams
- Proficiency with Autodesk or Bentley software
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to learning
