What this job is
This is hard, physical work in a steel plant. It's hot in summer and cold in winter, dirty all year round and you'll be on your feet all shift. You'll saw, drill, shear, forge, mill, thread and handle steel all day. If you want a job where you can sit and scroll your phone, this is not it.
What you'll do
- Run production machines: saws, drills, shears, presses, forging equipment and mills
- Deburr, inspect and stack parts while machines are running. There's always something to do.
- Keep your work area clean. Put tools back where they belong at the end of every job.
- Help with machine maintenance and plant housekeeping
- Lift and move material up to 100 lbs
What we require: no exceptions
- Show up. You work 40 hours, every week, on time. Being late, leaving early or missing days during the first 90 days is immediate termination.
- Phones stay in your vehicle while you're on the floor. Use them on breaks and lunch only.
- Work without being told. If your machine is running, you're deburring, cleaning or prepping the next job.
- Follow directions and safety rules
- Have reliable transportation
Helpful but not required
Experience running CNC mills, welding, torch cutting, running presses, setting up tools and dies, or maintaining metalworking machinery. We'll train the right person. We can't train someone who doesn't show up.
